Hostinger BYOIP: your own IP addresses on a Hostinger VPS

No published procedureLithuaniaChecked against the Hostinger documentation on

Hostinger offers no way to attach further addresses to a VPS, and says nothing about bringing your own. It publishes nothing about BYOIP, and its support page on VPS addresses, last updated on 15 September 2026, says: "Only one dedicated IP address is assigned per Hostinger VPS. There is currently no option to purchase or attach additional IPv4 or IPv6 addresses to a single VPS instance as an add-on." For more addresses, it recommends "separate VPS plans for each unique IP needed".

We read that page on 15 October 2026. It does not mention customer-owned addresses either way. A VPS that cannot take a second address from Hostinger is unlikely to take a block of yours, but Hostinger has not said so, so we list it under no published procedure.

The tunnel route

A tunnel does not need Hostinger to attach anything. A network that can announce the block does so, and a GRE or WireGuard tunnel carries its traffic to your VPS and back (how the tunnel works). The VPS keeps its one dedicated Hostinger address, and that address is the outer end of the tunnel. The leased block arrives inside the tunnel. You configure its addresses on the tunnel or loopback interface, and the VPS answers on them as if they were local. Hostinger's network sees only traffic between two public addresses.

  • Replies go back through the tunnel. Add a policy route so that traffic from the block leaves through the tunnel. Sent straight out, it would carry a source address Hostinger never assigned to the VPS, and networks filter such traffic.
  • Allow the tunnel in Hostinger's firewall. An active Hostinger VPS firewall group drops all traffic that no rule accepts. Hostinger lists GRE among the protocols it filters, with ICMP, TCP and UDP, so add an accept rule for GRE (IP protocol 47), or for WireGuard's UDP port, limited to the far end's address. Hostinger says changes take effect in two minutes or less.
  • Set the MTU. 1,476 bytes for GRE, around 1,420 for WireGuard, with MSS clamping if the VPS routes the block on to containers or virtual machines.
  • Any size. A tunnel delivers fewer than 256 addresses, down to a single one, which BYOIP never does.

Where RTM Networks fits

We announce the block ourselves and deliver it to your Hostinger VPS over GRE or WireGuard, in any size down to a single address, so a VPS with one Hostinger address can carry more (GRE and WireGuard tunnels). We lease /24s and larger from our own RIPE NCC address space, and sell blocks in the RIPE NCC, ARIN and APNIC regions. Every lease includes the ROA, the route object, PTR records and a Letter of Authorization whenever you need one (lease IPv4). Tell us where the VPS runs and how many addresses you need. Other providers: BYOIP guides.

Bringing your own IP to Hostinger?

Tell us where your server runs and how many addresses you need. We announce a block and deliver it to your server over GRE or WireGuard, in any size, and lease or sell /24s and larger for when your provider takes them. We usually reply in 1-3 business hours.

FAQ

Hostinger BYOIP: questions

Does Hostinger support BYOIP?

No route is published. Hostinger says nothing about bringing your own addresses, and its support page says each VPS is assigned one dedicated IP address, with currently no option to purchase or attach additional IPv4 or IPv6 addresses. A tunnel is the way to use your own block there.

Can I add a second IP address to a Hostinger VPS?

Not from Hostinger. Its support page says there is currently no add-on for additional IPv4 or IPv6 addresses, and it suggests a separate VPS plan for each IP address you need. Addresses delivered over a tunnel do not depend on Hostinger at all.

Does the Hostinger VPS firewall allow GRE?

Yes, as Hostinger describes it: its VPS firewall filters ICMP, TCP, UDP and GRE, and drops all traffic except what matches the rules you add. Add an accept rule for GRE, or for WireGuard's UDP port, limited to the far end of the tunnel.

Do I need my own ASN to use my addresses on a Hostinger VPS?

No. With a tunnel, the network at the other end announces the block from its ASN, and the ROA names that ASN. Your VPS needs only its Hostinger address and the tunnel interface.
